Body Beast

Body Beast, for me, is like your significant other who wants to marry you after the first date. Even though you seem to really like them you're not sure if you want that much of a commitment.
What is it?
Body Beast is a 90 day weight training program and nutritional program to tranform yourself into a beast (or in my case, a beastette). In reality, this program most likely won't transform you into a beast (let's get real) but you could improve your physic tremendously in 90 days. Click here to see my grocery list and meal plan for this program.
Why is it so effective?
The secret is Dynamic Set Training. Body Beast combines proven training strategies—from Pre-Fatigue Sets to Drop Sets, Tempo Sets, and Force Sets—creating greater time under tension and a faster and more effective workout. The workouts and nutrition is centered around science (much of which I have to read about to understand it more).
What makes Body Beast unique?
Sagi’s proven Dynamic Set Training plus some 'secrets' of body building.
How does it work?
The program is broken down into 3 sections (3 weeks, 5 weeks and 4 weeks) in which you build, bulk and beast with the at home workout DVDs. The nutrition program is based on age, weight, and activity level. There is some weighing of food and calorie counting (definitely miss the container system from 21 day fix/fix extreme).
Meet the trainer!
Sagi Kalev, world-renowned trainer and former two-time Mr. Israel but don't let those titles fool you into thinking he was always that way. If you want to know Sagi's story click here and scroll down to "Meet the trainer!".
Equipment required.
Bench or premium stability ball alsong with a few sets of dumbbells. Chin-up bar (or resistance bands with door attachment) and EZ Curl Bar with weight plates (optional; for best results). All equipment is not included in the program.

Whatever It Takes

This was probably my favourite workout program to date. It was challenging but it was worth the challenge and I saw results from pushing myself. My strength improved so much with this program. I tracked the weight I was lifting for every move and I had advanced quite a bit by the final workouts. I always struggled with strength and getting upper body strength but this program did it for me. I think this will be a program I will definitely repeat in the future but I do have to remember that it does take 3 months of commitment.

On top of everything Sagi (trainer for the program) encouraged me and reminded me constantly what I need to do in order to see the results I wanted to see.

Summer 2016 I completed Body Beast and became a Body Beast graduate!
