Black Bean Veggie Burger

Ingredients: 3 Tbsp chia seeds 1/3 cup warm water 1 (14-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed 1 Tbsp olive oil 3/4 cup finely chopped red onion 2 large garlic cloves, minced 1 cup grated carrots 1/2 cup sunflower seeds 2 Tbsp tamari 1 tsp chili powder 1 tsp dried oregano 1 tsp ground cumin 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 cup rolled oats, ground Directions: Whisk chia seeds and water in a small bowl and set aside for about 5 minutes so it can thicken. Add the drained black beans in a large bowl. Mash the beans into a bean paste. Add the oil, onion, garlic and stir in the chia seed water mixture, grated carrots, sunflower seeds, tamari, chili powder, oregano, cumin, salt & pepper until combined. Stir in the oat flour until the mixture comes together. It should be easy to shape the dough into patties. Shape the dough into 8 patties. Pack the dough together tightly as this will help it stick together. Grill on the BBQ until cooked. Enjoy!
