Super Saturday In Moncton, NB

The last Super Saturday of this year was this past Saturday. Man, does the time ever fly by. It seems like it was just yesterday that I attended my very first Super Saturday in Halifax. Super Saturday's are Beachbody events that happen 4 times a year across Canada and USA. These events are fantastic - motivation, updates, success stories, training...they have everything.

This time we were asked to dress up since it landed on Halloween weekend. I had to make sure my outfit was still workout friendly since we ended up doing LIVE workout classes (most people were smart and changed BEFOE the workout)! EEEEEK! Seriously, they were awesome. :)

There were a few really BIG take aways from this event that I really feel the need to share.

1. There were over 100 people representing Atlantic Canada. YES! Healthy living using at home workouts and nutritional programs from Beachbody are FINALLY starting to make sense to people. It's SO popular in the states but for some reason Canadians seem to not be as open to it. I was one of those Canadians before. I use to think results only happened if I went to the gym - WRONG. I was wrong and you are wrong if you think this. Beachbody launched the coaching aspect just a few short years ago in Canada and I really think that's what is making the difference. The stats that were given at the event were incredible - even though there are is a lot less Canadians doing it we also have a higher rate of success with it. THAT'S HUGE! It's probably because of our great work ethic and our determination (sorry America). When we say we want results we mean it!

2. EVERYONE and I mean everyone at the event had lost weight from various Beachbody programs (and of course the hard work we put into staying on track. THIS IS NOT A QUICK FIX but these programs are well designed and make the process EASIER - especially when you have a coach in your corner cheering you on). THAT is amazing. BONUS: more men were at the event (which Jeff loved). In fact, one man lost 100 lbs! INCREDIBLE. Beachbody is teaching people how to live a healthy lifestyle which in turn will help this obesity rate that continues to climb (you might THINK you know how to live a healthy lifestyle and that you can do it on your own...how's that working for you? Most people have a hard time doing it on their own and there is no shame on asking for help). Do you know how many health problems are directly related to excessive weight?

3. People lose motivation. It happens! It's NORMAL. I lose motivation...I am HUMAN. This whole healthy living is NOT a diet. You will never ever EVER hear me say anything about a diet. This is a way of living and each day that passes you just continue. You might fail. You might run into rocky roads but this is not a diet.We brush ourselves off and continue. I will never say "oh, I will just start next Monday" because THAT is a diet and your mind will automatically associate that with a diet. There is no end. We have goals but we have no date when we are stopping to slip back into old unhealthy habits. You might find new healthy ways to live your life....I've found several over the last 5 years but I never stopped.

4. Never quit (same theme as #3). It's simple. If you quit....nothing in your life will look better. People think "ugh I just can't do it anymore" and yes, you might be frustrated but if you quit what's that going to do for you? NOTHING. It's not going to help your relationship with your significant other or your kids. It's not going to help with your job. Coaches actually help support, motivate and find things that help YOU and YOUR life. It's not a "one life fits all". The way to improve is with a healthier (notice I said healthier not necessarily healthy) lifestyle. The secret to you youth is working out and eating well.

5. Find someone who you relate with and who understands what you are going through. You need someone who UNDERSTANDS. I struggled with emotional binge eating in the past and another girl spoke about that being her struggle as well. It brought me to tears AND that's when I realized how important it is to help you through those times and keep you accountable. THEY GET IT! I GET IT! Some people don't get it and don't understand and that just makes you feel worse inside but having someone know how hard it is and knowing that they are keeping you accountable (and have overcome some pretty scary obstacles) will make all the difference in the world. BONUS: find people who have an interest in other areas of life...I'm a coach but I'm not a robot! I do have a life and love to support my clients in all areas of their lives.

At the end of the event we did 3 LIVE workout classes (obviously not full classes) and were they ever AMAZING. BUT what blew my mind is that as good as those LIVE classes are you can get the exact same workout AT HOME. And if you do them at home you are much better in the LIVE classes. ;) We did Country Heat, Insanity and PiYo. It was my first time doing PiYo and it reminded me of Centergy from the YMCA which I absolutely loved. OH! And speaking of the YMCA. There was a lady that came up to me who recognized me from the YMCA. We chatted about how much we love Beachbody and decided to do Beachbody at home full time instead of going to the gym. I couldn't help but smile. I LOVED the gym and honestly, I do have plans in my future to do a mixture of at home workouts and gym workouts (I will share more about why I will be doing this in the next couple of months) BUT when I did my very first Beachbody workout I instantly recognized what this meant for people who said they didn't have time to workout and also didn't have money for a gym membership! You can purchase a program and repeat it for as long as you like from the comfort of your own home. I repeated the 21 Day Fix for 5-6 months. Those were the two excuses I heard from people for years when I asked them to join me at the YMCA and now I had a response for those excuses. BONUS: Beachbody actually has complete nutrition programs for each program...if you want that from a gym you usually need to book an appointment with a personal trainer ($$$).

Our next Super Saturday will be January 7 in Halifax. We are planning on attending and if you would like to attend with us get in touch with me. If you live in the Fredericton area (or anywhere in between) we could always car pool down. :)

This could be the decision that changes your life (plus you know you're going to have that New Years Resolution to drop weight). You don't have to be a coach. You don't have to be a customer. You can just come and have some fun and see what this whole Beachbody thing is all about (absolutely no strings attached...and if you know me even a little bit you know that I truly mean that). Be the change you want to see.
