15 Weeks Out From Atlantic Classics
Another week in the books! Yes, I am tracking it - my workouts, my food and the weeks counting down to competition.
Honestly, this past week wasn't so bad. It was very similar to my previous week - plenty of food (that I had prepared for the week), great workouts and plenty of rest. That's the secret!
Having said that, my workouts are definitely not a walk in the park. It doesn't just come 'easy' to me as many of you might think. It's hard work and when you continue to push yourself to your limits it will always be hard work. There is just no finish line...ever. I struggle (but don't over due it) - especially with certain exercises (cough wall sits cough...not to mention abs! Seriously, I'm starting to wonder if I have any under my insulation. I STRUGGLE hard with those ab workouts but it makes me happy that I am strengthening them).
My treat meal of choice for the week was pizza again! I thought about changing it up...I really did but the heart (or taste buds) wants what it wants. It was no disappointment. Having said that, I am planning on hashbrown casserole as my treat for next weekend. If you have never had it - stay tuned because it's amazing and I will share the recipe with all of you. In fact, it's probably one of my favourite dishes. I also discovered sugar free ketchup this past week and added it to quite a few meals. During prep, my sugar intake (even from natural sources) is minimum. I do get 2 fruit servings a day (which is what I was eating before prep anyway so no change there) but I don't get any foods with 'added sugar' (or very minimum if any). The sugar free ketchup is sweetened with sucralose and is my 'go to' sweetener of choice. I know many people who don't want any artificial sweeteners in their body but I always remind people that it's the dose that makes the poison and not all things natural are good for us either. It's all about balance in this world.
The next thing that has finally come up are making appointments for show day as well as purchasing suit, shoes, etc.. It's all new but I should have updates on my next blog post! It's made me a bit anxious but also keeps me excited.
Finally, you probably are wondering about my progress. I am down 0.6 lbs (total: 2.1 lbs since start of prep. Start: 127.3 lbs Now: 125.2 lbs) and I am now seeing the difference in my before and 'now' pictures. It's pretty amazing how our bodies can adjust and really can do whatever we set our minds out to do. I use to sneak treats all week and struggled to follow a meal plan 100% but for the last 2 weeks that's what I have done allowing just 1 treat meal a week. I really have been feeling AMAZING and I am pretty happy to be developing such discipline in myself (not to mention all the things I am learning about myself - it's the absolute best). As of yesterday, there are 14 more weeks to go before competition and I am ready to crush another week.
