March Accountability Group: Overcoming Emotional Binge Eating
I offered an online accountability group based around overcoming emotional binge eating about 6 months ago and it was a success (and so many people had interest in it). Since it's so close to my heart and I know so many others struggle with this beast I've decided I will offer it again (and will probably continue to offer it twice a year in the years to come since it's so popular). As much as I love to help people begin to get healthy by exercising and learning to choose the right foods (and portion sizes) the people who approach me with binge eating issues I hold dearly to my heart because I have felt what they are feeling. I know that struggle.
If you don't know me and have happened to just stumble upon this post, I ate my emotions away for years. Large amounts of food that I am sure could feed me for a few days (or more) would be eaten in a binge session. Sure, I gained weight from it and as much as the weight was an issue the real issue was hating myself and not even knowing who I was anymore. Slipping into times of depression to bring on times of anxiety and fear that stopped me from being me and doing the things I love to do (or wanted to try and do). You know what I'm saying, right? It's an awful feeling and I want to help you feeling good again (or maybe for the first time ever).
The group will be an online Facebook group focusing on self love and personal development along with guidelines on nutrition and exercise (believe me the exercise helps so much). We will go through strategies and tackle the real issues and begin to develop a healthy relationship with food as well as having support from me (seriously, I always answer my clients ASAP) and meeting others who have the same issues. We will focus on changing the way we think and think about why we binge in the first place (the reason will be different for everyone) and find solutions to help us stop. The group will focus on meal planning and learning to deal with our emotions while slowly developing healthier habits for ourselves. It will be an environment that when a binge does occur (because it will happen) you can come and tell it in the Facebook group so we can help you through it.
So if you are curled up with chocolate and chips, ate the whole pizza, polished off the garlic fingers, decided to eat a box of chicken wings and are now feeling guilty and hating yourself for what you are doing to your body all while reading this post send me a message so you can start your road to recovery. The group will begin March 20th and will run for 30 days with the option of continuing. You can read more about my online accountability groups as well as apply for this upcoming group here. Take control of your life again (or maybe for the first time) - it's so freeing and you will be so happy you decided to tackle (and defeat) the emotional binge eating monster.
Heads up: It's possible that I won't be able to help you (depending on the severity of your situation) but instead I will guide you to someone who can actually help you. Having said that, I have helped others in the past so don't be scared to send me a message telling me your story. Either way, I am someone who can be in your corner cheering you on (and a friend when you need one the most). <3
