Portion Control Eating Plan: Changes to Treats and Beverages

I must say I am pretty excited for the new changes that are happening to the Beachbody portion control eating plan. I never did quite understand how any treats (which you are allowed to have 3x per week) were always counted as a yellow container. It just never made sense to me (especially since the containers are actually based on macros - carbs, fat, protein- in the first place...not all treats are full of carbs). This topic has been argued in the Beachbody community since I've been a mentor (even by the personal trainer and creator of the program herself - Autumn). I've also had similar thoughts on the beverage side of the eating plan as well. But changes are here and I'm happy that they make a lot more sense.



Having said all that, even though I questioned this side of the eating plan it never took value away from the overall eating plan (which makes complete sense AND more importantly IT WORKS). There's always room for improvement in everything - it's what promotes growth so I am happy that the treats and beverages have been re-assessed. It really shows how this way of eating is a way of life and not just a quick fix for relapse after an individual loses the weight.
