Peak Week For Atlantic Classics
The week flew by - the final week before show day! My workouts were a breeze compared to the previous weeks which was very refreshing. I also had several rest days which helped me recover from the previous week as well. I go to the YMCA south side in Fredericton and so many of my workout buddies (as well as staff members) wished me luck. It felt so nice to have a crowd of people behind me.
My food was pretty bland but completely doable. Lots of rice, fish, veggies and chicken. It was basically the meals I thought all of prep would consist of before I started. As usual, I prepared all my meals except each meal had to be marked since it was different each day. Water was also different each day -more water at the start of the week and less water closer to show day. Water tapering is part of the process. And little water on Friday/showday serves two purposes.
1. Having all the carbs filling out your muscles and less intracellular water creates the muscles to pop.
2. You don't want to be peeing all the time with a tan on!
All the fun (and not so fun) stuff happened this last week too. I got my nails and toe nails done. It was the first time I ever had fake nails. And I also got waxed down (the not so fun part) - brows, arms, underarms, bikini and legs. The bikini was obviously the worst part and made all other areas a breeze. Having said that, the bikini still wasn't as terrible as what I thought. Don't get me wrong, it still wasn't pleasant but I had expected worse. I thought I would be screaming and crying - neither happened. HAHA!
Friday before show day, my coach met up with me in Fredericton. She's the absolute sweetest. We went over my posing routine and she was very satisfied with everything. She also had finished blinging out my suit. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. She did an amazing job.
I also spent my spare time packing and organizing because I wanted to be prepared for show day. The last thing I wanted was to be stressed because I hadn't planned properly. Check out the video (it's a FB live video) to see what I brought with me for show day!
And drum roll please...my final weigh in and progress pictures are below. I weighed in at 111.3 lbs making it officially 16 pounds lost in 16 weeks (starting weight 127.3 lbs). Myself and my coach were very pleased with the results. I did this and had zero regrets. I followed EVERYTHING as planned. And then it was time for show day. <3
